Instagram

Clearly, I don't have time to keep up with a blog right now. At this rate, I would only have 4 posts a year! Oh my! So, I am going to post some pictures right here, right now, as sort of a visual update, and going forward, I'm going to give instagram a try! We'll see how that goes!

Introducing...

Cameron Schade Wilson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Born 5/4/14
Weight 8 lbs 5 oz!
21.25 inches long

Cameron is doing great! He's a really good eater, and has gained approximately a pound a week since birth! That's double the average weight a doctor likes to see! He's my big boy! Oh the power of breast milk!

Follow me on instagram @sareesam and hopefully I can post there more frequently!

It's Been HOW Long?!?!

Yikes! It's been over 10 weeks since I posted! It is basically mid-March and this is my first post in 2014! I'm one super busy mama!

I have a whopping 8 weeks until Little Mr. is due! I think the thought of a newborn surprises me sometimes. I'll be thinking about it, and imagining Ellie plus a newborn catches me off guard! It has been a harder pregnancy in that I don't have the luxury of being lazy, propping my feet up after work, etc. At the same time, it has been an easier, much faster pregnancy this time around! There's always worry, but it's been much less stressful.

On March 1st we got to peek at our boy. I love technology!

Ellie definitely notices the change in my body, but of course has no idea what's about to happen. She's very interested in belly buttons now! I take comfort in the thought that she will never remember life any other way, other than having a brother. If not for that, I would have a lot more remorse (than I already do) about having to divide my attention.

Ellie is 16.5 months old! She's walking/RUNNING all over! Some days she is too busy going, going, going to stop and play with toys. She does a couple more signs now, including juice and book. She's a loving, cuddly, sweet girl.

She's a little young to have much interest in dolls, but I want to be prepared if she decides she wants to "be like Mommy." I found a very cute Doll Diaper Bag tutorial and whipped one up. I plan to make accessories to go inside - diapers, wipes, changing pad, burp cloths, etc. - and have it on hand as a surprise, so she can be a mini mama if her heart desires.

I really must get going on a quilt for the nursery. I have all the fabric I need, just not the time! Too many projects, so few weeks remaining! I did make this cute little quilt, though, because I knew it would be a quick assembly. I am in love with it, and dreaming of a pink & gray version so Ellie can have a matching one. We'll see. For every project I cross off the list, 2 more get added on!

I'll try not to wait another 10+ weeks to post again! No promises though! ;)

What's Been Going On?!?!

I have a blog? Who knew? It seems I've forgotten! I guess I'd better get some updates going!

Since I last posted, Ellie turned 1 year old! Shortly after, my SD card in my phone crashed, and I lost all of my pictures and videos of her first year of life. Devastation and Denial kept me from posting for a while. Then I just got lazy. But here we go!

She turned 1 on October 24! Here are a few pictures of her with her smash cake, as well as a few we had done by our photographer!

She hated touching the cake, she didn't want to eat it, she really didn't want anything to do with it. It was kind of funny how badly the other small kids watching wanted to get the cake! They knew what to do with it...

She was a mouse for Halloween!

I also want to share some of the pictures from her visit with Santa!

And just to compare from last year...

Ellie loves Sofia the First, Bubble Guppies, and The Cat in the Hat. They all make her dance. Her favorite food is cheese - in any form - cubes, slices, shredded, cheeto... you name it, she loves it. She zooms around in her walker like a pro. She can take about 4 steps on her own, but then falls, so I don't call her "walking" yet. She says "mama" and "dada" and if you ask her if she wants something, and she does want it, she will nod her head yes and say "yeah." She's great at pointing to what she wants and knows a couples words in sign language. She will do the sign for MORE and for MILK. Sometimes she will do the sign for EAT, as well. She is fascinated by cats, and loves to look at them and be by them. She will bring you a book and there is no telling how many times you will have to read it in one sitting. She is a sweet and silly girl, and I am so incredibly blessed to have her as my daughter.

Selfie?

In other news...

I am currently 21.5 weeks along with Ellie's little BROTHER! So far, so good. He is due to arrive in early May!

I love being a mama!

My Sweet Baby and Crafty Things

Ellie is 10 months old! I cannot believe that in less than 2 months, we will be celebrating her first birthday! It's going too fast for comfort!

She's so silly and I love getting to see her personality develop. If she hears music, she dances! We're talking arms waving and head bouncing kind of dancing! It's so funny! Her favorite jam right now is the Bubble Guppies theme song. See her here:  Ellie Dancing

She enjoys roaming the first floor in her walker. If I'm behind her and tell her I'm going to get her, she screeches really loud and tries to go faster.

She's very interested in putting something small into something big - a toy in another toy, a toy in a bag, etc. She also likes taking the cap off of something and then putting it back on. Really working on those fine motor skills!

Ellie loves to eat! There isn't much she doesn't like. Well, except meat. She doesn't like meat so far. But fruits and veggies, eggs, pasta - YUM! She's already starting to learn about "sharing" her cheerios with the dog. If she wants to drop a couple to the floor for him, I'm ok with that. But I don't really like her holding it in her hand over the side of the high chair... I'm afraid in his eagerness for the treat, he will pry it from her tiny hand if she doesn't just let go. Not in a mean way, just in a "you're giving this to me so I want it, now let go" way.

I've been sewing up a storm lately. I made 2 more bags like the watermelon bag, for a woman that Hubby works with. They turned out very cute!

Puffy Pouch with Flex Frame! I found this adorbs tutorial at Pink Penguin
